Questions without notice: Telecommunications

Mrs WICKS (Robertson): My constituency question is to the Minister for Urban Infrastructure representing the Minister for Communications. Around 30,000 residents, or around one in four of the adult workforce on the Central Coast, have to commute very long distances to and from work, including thousands who travel daily on the train line between Newcastle and Sydney. Can the minister please update the House on how the government will upgrade and build telecommunications infrastructure to help improve the lives  of Central Coast commuters through better mobile coverage?

The Broadcasting Legislation Amendment (Media Reform) Bill 2016 will amend media control and ownership rules in the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and establish new local television programming obligations for regional commercial broadcasters.

Questions without notice: Telecommunications

Mr O'DOWD (Flynn): My question is to the Minister for Urban Infrastructure . Much of rural Australia, including my electorate of Flynn, has suffered from poor mobile  phone coverage for many years. Can the minister update the House on the effects that the government's Mobile Black Spot Program is having in our rural communities? Thank you.

Constituency statement - The Novus Foundation

I am very pleased to rise to speak about The Novus Foundation, which this weekend is hosting the Novus gala dinner to support many worthwhile causes in the electorate of Bradfield and causes supported by institutions based in the electorate of Bradfield. The Novus Foundation was formed in 2006. It is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Wahroonga, the McCarroll's automotive group and the San Foundation.

This is the best that Labor has got on budget day. Labor is so bereft of a plausible story to tell on economic management that on the day the Australian people turn their attention to the vital question of which party has the better economic plan for Australia the best that Labor can come up with as a topic for a matter of public importance debate is this tired old piece of wishful thinking from the member for Blaxland.

I am very pleased to rise to acknowledge the contribution made in my electorate of Bradfield by the many active Rotarians throughout the electorate. I want to emphasise in particular an event organised by St Ives Rotary, but let me first acknowledge all of the Rotary clubs in Bradfield and across Australia.

I am very pleased to rise to deliver these summing-up remarks in the second reading debate in relation to the Territories Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 and the Passenger Movement Charge Amendment (Norfolk Island) Bill 2016. Let me thank members who have participated in this debate.

I am pleased to deliver this summing up speech. I thank all members for their contribution to this debate. The Telecommunications Legislation Amendment (Access Regime and NBN Companies) Bill 2015 sought to enhance the telecommunications access regime and nbn co's line of business restrictions.
