Albanese's misleading claims on Adelaide's North South Corridor

Labor Infrastructure spokesman Anthony Albanese makes misleading claims today about Adelaide's North South Corridor.

The Coalition funded the Torrens to Torrens project - and work is underway on the project.

Albanese claims in his media release that the Coalition's funding for the Darlington Interchange was reallocated from the Torrens to Torrens project and this caused unnecessary delays and uncertainty.

That claim is wrong. The Coalition provided $496 million of new funding for Darlington - and work is underway on the project.

Albanese claims that only his party can deliver the infrastructure South Australia needs.

In fact, since coming to government in 2013, the Liberal National Coalition Government has committed almost $3 billion towards infrastructure in South Australia - including $788 million for the Northern Connector, a third component of the North South Corridor which Albanese curiously forgets to mention in his media release today.

These three projects are expected to generate 1,330 jobs per year during construction - 480 through Northern Connector, 370 through Darlington, and 480 through Torrens to Torrens.

As usual with Mr Albanese's claims - it pays to check the facts.
