Grants Totalling $100,000 will Strengthen our Community in Bradfield

Federal Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher today visited local cricketers at Hassall Park in St Ives to announce $100,000 in grants to local community organisations.

St Ives Junior Cricket Club will receive $5272 to install a first aid station, upgrade the clubhouse kitchen and buy portable first aid kits. The equipment will also be used by St Ives Rugby Club and St Ives-Wahroonga Cricket Club.

Mr Fletcher said “It’s so important kids stay safe while playing sport - and having the right first aid equipment on hand has a big part in that.”

“I’m glad the federal government has provided these grants to community groups in Bradfield, which will be put to good use across the electorate.”

“Thanks to St Ives Junior Cricket Club for inviting me here today.”

Other projects being funded include :

● $20,000 for the expansion of the St Ives Community Shed

● $20,000 to Ku-ring-gai Council to develop the playspace at Roseville Chase Community Centre

● $20,000 for roof repairs at Eryledene, a historic house in Killara

● $15,850 for Killara Uniting Church to install a disabled toilet and improve acoustics in the community hall

● $13,352 to improve security at Lifeline’s building in Gordon.

The Stronger Communities Programme was announced in the 2015 budget. Applications for both funding rounds have now closed and more successful projects will be announced in the coming months.
